Problems of building overcrowding, density, accessibility, poor quality housing, lack of equipment and lack of transverse permeability that affects their neighbors.
The project wants to give a solution to these aspects, as we consider them as main elements of our project to improve their daily lives.
After an exhaustive study of the neighbourhood, its empty plots, abandoned buildings or in very poor condition, the ease with which neighbours can relocate to dwellings with better accessibility, the pronounced topography… we realised that a new public space could be generated.
The project proposes the creation of a dispersed civic centre, located in the low floors of the volumes executed along the entire route and of affordable and quality housing for all those people and neighbours with problems of social exclusion.
Taking advantage of the information given to us by the town council from the demolition of the current civic centre, we saw it as an opportunity to create a new civic centre scattered along this new layout for public use which, together with the topography, would make this new route a more accessible and busy space where neighbours could meet daily and talk about their neighbourhood in a pleasant and enjoyable space.
The project wants to give a space to the neighbors of the Raval neighborhood of which they feel proud and with this premise our idea and our project proposal was born.
